How Holistic Health Secrets Compares To Conventional Medicine

Comparing holistic medicine with its holistic health secrets against conventional medicine is like comparing a car with a horse. Cars go faster than horses -no one argues against that-except that they need a road to run on. Horses don't require roads and can even go through forest lanes used by animals. So which is better, a car or a horse? Depends on where you want to go and the way to get there. (Funny thing is that cars were once horseless carriages.)

Conventional medicine or Western medicine-means the 'scientific' way of treatment, where ailments are diagnosed based on studies of anatomy, physiology and physical functions of the body. Anything beyond that is 'unscientific', so that holistic medicine which addresses the essential being of a person is termed that. In fact, the terms 'holistic health secrets' might invoke in a 'scientific' doctor's mind images akin perhaps to voodoo magic, a terrible anathema.

Yet conventional medicine reduced to its simplest roots was also once upon a time 'voodoo' and magic. Most modern drugs can be traced to substances isolated from plants and animals. Penicillin for one is obtained from a kind of fungus, a plant; and most vaccines are antibodies produced via inoculation of a host animal. Herbal medicine, a part of holistic medicine, only uses the whole plant part ---leaves, roots, flowers, seeds--- in imparting wellness instead of the single healing element (the drug) housed in a carrier (the pill/capsule/powder/injectable liquid). Therefore holistic health secrets are secrets only because the healing substances of this medicine form have not yet been isolated and turned into an industrial product.

Holistic medicine is usually lumped together with alternative medicine, which is a departure from mainstream 'scientific' medicine. Among the other forms are acupuncture, acupressure and massage, all of which have been accepted as effective means of healing illnesses or preventing them. Holistic medicine with its holistic health secrets is taking the same route, also fast being accepted as a new method of treating ailments. It is the horse that will be a car.

Holistic medicine is not a new medical concept; it has been practiced for generations although under different names and varied forms. It is not even a method of medical treatment, but rather a philosophy on applying treatment, focusing more on the entire person and his being rather than the alleviation of pain or suffering due to an ailment. So holistic health secrets are not about healing per se, but go beyond just symptomatic relief of illnesses, the main focus of 'scientific' medicine.

In this world of instant sensual gratification ---instant food, music and entertainment on demand, fast travel and others--- the approach of holistic medicine may not appeal to many people. On the other hand, the idea of holistic health secrets may just have the appeal for people who may want to try it, if only to discover true holistic healing: the perfection of the person.
